St. Anthony Claret’s Pantry (SACP)

The SAC Pantry is not just a simple food pantry. Based on Matthew 25:33-40, our Pantry exists, with the support of our church members, to help our neighbors in our parish community when they are having trouble making ends meet. The Pantry offers non-perishable food weekly and limited utility assistance every six months as funds allow. Help with gasoline, medicine, bereavement, toiletries, and other things can sometimes be provided. Referrals are made to other agencies for clothing, furniture, and other services that the Pantry is not able to provide.

A Thanksgiving Basket Program and School Supply Program are annual events sponsored by the Pantry for those we serve.

The SAC Pantry is staffed by church members who have joined together in service to our neighbors in need. Restocking the food pantry and performing other office work is accomplished every Tuesday morning from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

The Pantry is open every Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for client services in Building A and is staffed by one of four teams of Pantry members. Home deliveries are made to those who are unable to come in for service. Clients are required to remain outdoors.

A quarterly meeting is held the second Saturday of January, April, July and October at 9:00 a.m. for spiritual growth, prayer, business, and information sharing. We seek the face of Christ in everyone who approaches us for help. If you need us or are interested in joining our ministry, please, call our office at 210 474-6888 and leave your name and phone number or stop by any Thursday morning. You can also contact us via email by sending your name, phone number and a brief note to [email protected]. One of us will get back to you as soon as possible.
